Female Inmate Found Dead In County Jail Cell Was From Vacaville

FAIRFIELD - The Solano County Sheriff's Office has identified a female inmate who was found dead in her jail cell Monday afternoon as a Vacaville woman.

The woman was found in her Solano County Jail cell by herself with a ligature device from bedding material wrapped around her neck.

The death appears to be a suicide, sheriff's Deputy Christine Castillo said.

The victim was last seen alive at 12:15 p.m. and was found unresponsive at 1:08 p.m.

Resuscitation efforts were made but she was pronounced dead at 1:31 p.m.

Suisun City police say they had arrested the woman last Wednesday for robbery and violation of probation, Castillo said.

A preliminary hearing on the charges was scheduled for this coming Monday.
