Fire Burns Former Pet Store Monday Evening in Fairfield

A three-alarm fire burned at a former pet store in Fairfield on Monday evening, fire officials said.

Firefighters responded to a report of a commercial building fire in the 600 block of Broadway Street around 7:30 p.m.

Crews arrived to find the building in flames and battled the blaze with the assistance of fire crews in Solano County, according to fire officials.

The blaze was under control shortly after 9 p.m., fire officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
