SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- A fire in an electrical room led to the closure of 11 businesses at a commercial building Wednesday morning, a Fairfield Fire Department Battalion Chief said. The fire at 1702 Enterprise Drive near Allen Witt Park was reported around 11:15 a.m., Battalion Chief Larry Palmer said.
It burned part of the main electrical panel, five electric meters, breakers, wires and other equipment. The 11 businesses affected by the fire include an auto body and repair shop, alignment shop and a carpet cleaning business, Palmer said.
The electrical room was located in a central area of the structure, and significant repairs will be required, Palmer said. Businesses were closed for the day and will likely remain closed for some time, Palmer said.
