A 49-year-old man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a stabbing Friday evening in Fairfield.

FAIRFIELD - A 49-year-old man was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a stabbing Friday evening in Fairfield, according to police.
Officers dispatched to an address in the 2200 block of Fremont Court around 6 p.m. found the victim with a stab wound to the abdomen.
He was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, but is expected to recover, according to police.

Investigators determined the suspect had fled the scene of the crime before their arrival, but found her in the 1600 block of Sunset Avenue.
Heather Prestwich, a 29-year-old resident of Fairfield, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
