Girl, 15, Shot After Birthday Party Squabble In Suisun City

BREAKING: Police report a man fired multiple times toward a group leaving the celebration at an apartment complex.

SUISUN CITY, CA – A 15-year-old girl suffered critical injuries when she was shot late Friday night outside a birthday party in Suisun City, police said over the weekend.

Someone called police at 11:45 p.m. to tell them a girl had been shot in the 1300 block of Worley Way.

Police said a group of youths ran away when officers arrived.

Officers found the girl from Fairfield suffering from one gunshot wound to her chest.

Police said the girl was taken to a hospital.

Citizens told officers that a birthday party ended at a nearby apartment complex when an argument took place.

"Witnesses advised that a large group left a birthday party at the nearby apartment complex, when a verbal altercation ensued," Suisun City police said. "The suspect drew a handgun and fired multiple rounds towards the crowd, striking the victim in the chest."

Police said one bullet struck the girl and the shooter fled. As of 8 a.m. Saturday, the suspect was still at large and the agency has not issued any updates.
