Heads Up If You Live Near Fairfield-Suisun Public Safety Academy
A drill is scheduled for today -- Thursday afternoon.

Fairfield police are advising residents who live near the Fairfield-Suisun Public Safety Academy about a first-responder drill planned on the campus this afternoon.
The advisory is to avoid undue concern that a real emergency event is happening at the school for students in grades 5-10 who are interested in a career in public safety and emergency response.
The California Highway Patrol and Fairfield police and fire departments will participate in the drill between noon and 2:30 p.m. The event is part of the school curriculum and is not open to the public.

Police and fire vehicles will enter the campus at 230 Atlantic Ave. in a safe manner and officers and firefighters will perform tasks and demonstrations used in the field. A CHP helicopter will circle the area before landing, police said.
