Husband of Fairfield Childcare Provider Arrested for Alleged Molestation

A Fairfield man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of molesting a young girl who attended his wife’s in-home childcare facility.

Randall Edwards, 50, was arrested on two counts of suspicion of committing a lewd act on a child.

Police said investigators in August received a report the victim was molested approximately two years ago when she was attending the childcare.

The victim was younger than 14 years old when the alleged incidents occurred.

Police said Edwards is the husband of the in-home childcare provider.

Police said detectives looking for Edwards on Thursday served a search warrant at the residence in the 2700 block of Shearwater Way, but later located him at a gym in Vacaville.
