If You Hear 'Booms' Today In Fairfield Area, This Is Why ...

Tactical training is underway through 10 p.m. [Breaking]

FAIRFIELD, CA – Announcement from the Fairfield Police Department:

The Fairfield Police Department's Special Weapons and Tactics Team and Crisis Negotiation Team will be conducting training scenarios today -- Wednesday Sept. 14 -- from noon until 10 p.m.

The training will be held in the 2400 block of Hilborn Road and the 2200 block of North Texas St. The areas will be clearly marked and have restricted access to the public during the training.

Realistic training scenarios are an extremely valuable part of our training program. As part of the scenarios, residents may hear loud "booms" in the areas. While every effort is made to minimize the impact on the surrounding area, we appreciate the public's cooperation and support during these events.
