Information Needed In Shooting That Critically Injured Man: FPD

Police responded to find "a large crime scene with many expended rounds" but have little information about the shooting.

FAIRFIELD, CA — Police in Fairfield are looking to the public for information about a shooting that left a man hospitalized in critical condition. Police started receiving reports at 9:15 p.m. Saturday about the shooting in the area of Hayes Street and Utah Street; a short time later, a 25-year-old Fairfield man, called 911 and said he'd been shot and was in need of medical attention.

Officers responded to find a "large crime scene with many expended rounds" at Hayes and Utah streets, officials with the Fairfield Police Department said.

The injured man had driven himself away from the scene; he was met by paramedics who took him to a local trauma center. He was listed in critical condition Saturday night, according to police.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Fairfield Police Department's Investigations Bureau at 707-428-7600 or call the Fairfield Police Department's 24-hour Tip Line at 707-428-7345. Callers and texters can remain anonymous, police said.
