It’s time to befriend your body!
Join the next PAL Girls Circle and learn the mindfulness secret to body positivity and wellness!

The Fairfield Police Activities League, together with the Soroptimist International of Central Solano County, invite Fairfield, Suisun, and Travis girls to the February Girls Circle. The Girls Circle model is a structured support group that integrates relational theory, resiliency practices, and skills training in a specific format designed to increase positive connection, personal and collective strengths, and competence in girls.
The February circle will focus on BODY IMAGE. This expanded circle examines cultural messages and personal beliefs that influence body image. These sessions will emphasize raising awareness, recognizing body signals, and exploring underlying causes of poor body image. Topics cover physical awareness, health, and emotional balance through media exploration, imagery, art, personal story telling, and more through arts, games, group discussion and more! Girls see images that—despite recognizing as unrealistic, unattainable, and often not even real—they aspire to meet and then suffer when they can’t help but fail to do so. In our society, we know that girls’ self-esteem and their health are inextricably linked to body image. This circle will encourage girls to think more deeply about how they are reflected in the media / society, consider what messages they internalize and better prepare them to challenge constructed the images of girls and improve their self-talk.
The circle kicks off Wednesday February 1, 2023, and will finish with a closing circle on April 5, 2023. Sessions run from 5:30pm -7pm weekly. Dinner is provided by the Soroptimist International of Central Solano County.
