Man Accused Of Pistol-Whipping Woman Over Parking Space In Vacaville

The Fairfield man was arrested Saturday night.

A Fairfield man was arrested in Vacaville Saturday night on suspicion of striking a woman in the face with the butt of a handgun and firing it into the air in a dangerous manner, police said Sunday.

The incident was reported at 11:06 p.m. in the 1900 block of Aletha Lane. Dispatchers received numerous 911 calls about shots fired. The suspect had allegedly pistol-whipped a woman in the face before firing four or five shots into the air, according to police.

Responding officers found David Scott Kling, 40, fleeing the area on foot. Kling allegedly tossed a loaded handgun on the ground near the scene of his arrest, police said. Further investigation revealed that the assault had escalated from a verbal dispute over a parking spot, according to police.

The victim was treated at the scene for a cut to her forehead. Kling was taken to a hospital and cleared for injuries suffered during the incident before being booked into the Solano County Jail, police said. Kling was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and unlawfully discharging a firearm in a dangerous manner.
