Man Dies In Fairfield Vehicle, Scooter Collision

BREAKING: Police say the victim was riding a motorized scooter in the road where there was poor lighting.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A man died Saturday night when he was struck by a vehicle in Fairfield, according to police. At 8:15 p.m., police received a report of an unconscious person in the roadway on Manuel Campos Parkway near Clay Bank Road.

Police, fire and medical crews arrived and located the injured man. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Officers learned that the victim was riding a motorized scooter in the road where there was poor lighting and he was struck by a vehicle.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision, police said.

Cement Hill Road was closed to all traffic between Clay Bank Road and Noonan Lane while police investigated the collision.
