Man Found Shot In Head On Fairfield Street Dies

FAIRFIELD - A man who was found shot in the head on a Fairfield street a month ago died in a trauma center Monday, a Fairfield police lieutenant said.

Police identified the victim as Anthony Gaines, 46, of Fairfield.

Police received a call around 5:45 a.m. May 30 about an unconscious male in the 1000 block of Harding Street.

They found the injured man with a gunshot wound to the head inside an out building. Gaines was in critical condition until his death, Lt. Rob Lenke said in a news release.
