Man Riding ATV Leads Cops On Chase, Hit By Semi-Truck

BREAKING: Police said the 32-year-old blew through a stop sign on Highway 12 when he was struck.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – A man driving an ATV was struck by a semi-truck after he failed to stop at a stop sign while leading officers on a pursuit early Saturday morning in Rio Vista, according to police.

Around 3:35 a.m., officers noticed a Honda ATV driving recklessly near state Highway 12 and Virginia Drive, police said.

When officers tried to stop the driver, he kept driving and entered the westbound lane of highway 12, according to police.

When the driver failed to stop at a stop sign on Virginia Drive, a semi-truck stuck him, police said.

The driver of the ATV, identified as 32-year-old Isleton resident Jonathan McCluskey, was taken to a hospital with major injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to police.

Once he is released from the hospital, McCluskey will be arrested for felony evading police and possession of burglary tools, police said.
