Man On Off-Road Motorcycle Arrested After Allegedly Leading Cops On Hwy 12 Pursuit

The chase ended when the motorcycle went down an embankment, police said.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA – A motorcyclist was arrested Wednesday following a pursuit with police officers in Rio Vista.

Daniel Babcock, 31, of Rio Vista, was arrested on suspicion of evading a police officer and reckless driving.

On Wednesday at 10:03 p.m., officers with the Rio Vista Police Department observed an off-road motorcycle being operated on the roadway, police said.

An officer tried to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on the motorcyclist as he entered onto state Highway 12, but the rider accelerated and attempted to flee, police said.

Officers began a pursuit that led into Sacramento County.

The rider left the highway and continued riding on a dirt and gravel road until he lost control of the motorcycle and went down a dirt embankment, police said.

The motorcyclist, identified as Babcock, did not need medical attention and was taken into custody.
