Man Shot In Fairfield: Police

FAIRFIELD, CA -- A man was shot in the leg as he sat in a vehicle near Hillview Park in Fairfield late this morning, a police sergeant said. The shooting was reported around 11:15 a.m. at Marigold and Atlantic avenues, Fairfield police Sgt. Matt Bloesch said.

Police followed a vehicle that was speeding away from the scene to the NorthBay Medical Center. The male shooting victim was treated inside for an injury that is not life-threatening, Bloesch said.

The victim was sitting in his vehicle parked on Marigold Avenue when a green or teal SUV-type car stopped and fire multiple shots into the car before it sped away north on Marigold Avenue.
