Men From Napa, Fairfield Arrested After Vehicle Pursuit, Separate Manhunts Wednesday

Solano County Sheriff’s deputies and officers from other regional law enforcement agencies worked together to arrest two men on several different charges after a vehicle pursuit and two separate manhunts Wednesday morning, sheriff’s deputies said.

Just after 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a motorhome in the area of Cordelia Road and Hale Ranch Road for a vehicle code violation.

The driver of the motorhome refused to pull over after emergency lights and sirens were activated.

The driver, later identified as Richard Allen White, 46, of Napa, led deputies on a slow speed chase that eventually reached eastbound Interstate Highway 80 before the motorhome stopped near Cherry Glen Road in Vacaville.

White fled the motorhome and jumped a fence along the freeway, running into a wooded area east of the highway.

Deputies enlisted the help of the Vacaville Police Department and the California Highway Patrol to establish a perimeter around the forested area and used K-9 units to search for White.

A Vacaville police K-9 unit eventually located White and bit him several times as he was taken into custody.

After being medically cleared at a local hospital, White was booked into Solano County Jail for possessing methamphetamine, a smoking pipe, and an explosive device, along with evading police, probation violation, and driving with a suspended license.

White, who also had outstanding arrest warrants out of Napa County, is being held in Solano County Jail with no bail set.

While searching White’s motorhome, deputies found information indicating that another wanted subject, Jon Charles Nelson, 42, of Fairfield, was in the Cordelia Road area where White was first seen that morning.

Deputies later found Nelson’s unoccupied car in the Cordelia Road area, and began to search for Nelson with the help of the Fairfield Police Department.

A probation search of Nelson’s vehicle uncovered property that further linked Nelson to the incriminating property originally found in White’s motorhome.

A construction crew in the area told sheriff’s patrol units that they saw a shirtless man matching Nelson’s description running through the area, prompting another search to begin in the 2600 block of Cordelia Road near Hale Ranch Road.

A sheriff’s K-9 unit soon found Nelson hiding in the area. He resisted arrest and was bit several times by the K-9 unit.

Nelson was medically cleared and booked into the Solano County Jail for two outstanding felony warrants, one misdemeanor warrant, and possession of methamphetamine.
