More Marijuana Plants Growing In Cornfield Near Dixon Eradicated
Solano County deputies report another 2,100 plants.

The Solano County Sheriff’s Office Thursday eradicated nearly 2,100 marijuana plants that were found growing in cornfields near Dixon and on Ryer Island.
The sheriff’s office eradicated 3,700 pot plants a week ago that also were growing in a cornfield on Ryer Island in the Sacramento River Delta north of Rio Vista. Those plants were worth $7.4 million, sheriff’s Deputy Daryl Snedeker said.
There were 300 plants in the Dixon cornfield and 1,775 plants in the cornfield on Ryer Island Thursday, Snedeker said. The plants have a street value of $4.1 million. No suspects were found at either field and there were no arrests, Snedeker said.

Snedeker said last week the growers conceal the marijuana plants in cornfields because irrigation is readily available and the plants are not as visible.
The Solano County Sheriff’s Office’s California Multi-jurisdictional Methamphetamine Enforcement Team conducted the eradication operations.
