Napa's Pumpkin-Growing Champ to Appear on National TV Show This Friday
John Hawkley and his wife are being flown to NYC to appear on "Live with Kelly and Michael."
Napa resident John Hawkley, winner of Half Moon Bay’s Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off earlier this month, is scheduled to appear this Friday, Oct. 24 on the nationally syndicated TV show, “Live with Kelly and Michael.”
Hawkley, who set a North American record with his Goliath 2,058-pound mega-gourd at the Half Moon Bay weigh-off, and his wife Patty, are being flown to New York City by the New York Botanical Garden, which will be displaying his monster pumpkin for Halloween.
Hawkley’s appearance, in the company of his gargantuan gourd, on “Live with Kelly and Michael” can be seen at 9 a.m. Friday on KGO-TV in San Francisco/Bay area. Check with your local listings to confirm.
