PHOTOS: Congressman John Garamendi Visits Eco-Delight Coffee
Suisun's Democratic Congressman, John Garamendi, visited Eco-Delight Coffee and talked with the Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and guests about federal policy.
Democratic Congressman John Garamendi, the state's former Insurance Commissioner, stopped by to talk with members of the Solano County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and other guests about federal policy.
In response to questions about government regulation of small business, Garamendi said the federal government is facing a key decision point. Whether it should remain active in developing the economy or shrink to a point where it would not be able to be active in developing the economy. Garamendi said he believed the former was the best way to use government, and he blamed Republicans for cutting educational resources like Pell Grants for community college students.
He also talked about the need for local contractors to be included in the range of contractors available for federal facilities like Travis Air Force Base so, for example, can be served on base.
