SOLANO COUNTY, CA — Fairfield police arrested a Sacramento teen as the sole suspect in a shooting this week on Travis Boulevard that left one person hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The 16-year-old male suspect was booked into Solano County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of three counts of attempted murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle, possession of a loaded and concealed firearm, possession of a firearm and ammunition by a juvenile, and wearing a mask to evade identification, Fairfield police said in an update Thursday.

The shooting was reported at about 4:30 p.m. Monday in the 1300 block of Travis Boulevard, in the area of Solano Town Center. Officers responded to reports of gunshots and found evidence that a shooting had occurred in the parking lot.

Police discovered there was a victim in the shooting when the person's friend tried to take them to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Investigators worked "around the clock" to find out who was responsible, according to Jausiah Jacobsen of the Fairfield Police Department Investigations Bureau.

Wednesday night, that investigation led to the arrest of the Sacramento teen.

"The juvenile is believed to be the only person responsible for the shooting and a firearm has been recovered," Jacobsen said. "Based on research conducted during the investigation we have determined the victim and the suspect knew each other and this was not a random attack."

Police did not disclose the victim's identity, nor the name of the juvenile suspect.

Law enforcement personnel from the Danville and Vacaville police departments assisted in solving the crime, Jacobsen said.
