Service From Fairfield-Vacaville Train Station Begins Monday

BREAKING: Here's what you need to know about the new station, as well as changes to the Capitol Corridor schedule.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A new Capitol Corridor schedule that includes service to the new Fairfield-Vacaville station will take effect Monday, Nov. 13, according to a news release. The FFV station on Vanden Road is located about 5 miles east of the Suisun-Fairfield station and brings the number of Capitol Corridor stations to 18.

Tickets for the new station, and for trips taken on or after Monday, can be purchased via the Capitol Corridor and Amtrak websites, as well on the Amtrak app.

Fares will remain the same.

In addition to the new station, other highlights of the new Capitol Corridor schedule effective Monday include:

  • A new bus stop at the UC Santa Barbara campus for bus services the San Jose-Diridon Station, where passengers can transfer to Capitol Corridor trains.
  • Departure times for many of the trains will be adjusted by 5 to 15 minutes; some trains may be leaving earlier, and some later, so passengers should be sure to check the new schedule before traveling.
  • In an effort to continue to reduce travel times, all station stops will be no longer than 1 minute; passengers will need to ensure they are prepared to board and off-board the train.
  • Minimal winter-time adjustments are being made for connecting bus schedules to allow for possible weather delays.
