Shooting In Fairfield Leaves 2 In Critical Condition

FAIRFIELD - Fairfield police said two people were shot Monday morning and are listed in critical condition.

A police officer conducting a traffic enforcement stop in the 1700 block of North Texas Street near Wisconsin Street around 11:40 a.m. heard gunshots in the immediate area, police said.

Citizens told the officer a gunshot victim was on the other side of a building just north of the traffic stop.

Officers arrived and found two gunshot victims, police said.

The victims were taken to a trauma center and are in critical condition, police said.
