Shorefest and Muster Bring Party To Waterfront

Firemen's muster, vendors and bands bring fun to waterfront

Hundreds of people came out Saturday for the ย andย . With so many attractions and events happening at once, there were many sites and activities to choose from. Some even cameย from different cities to check out the dayโ€™s events.

โ€œWeโ€™ve been looking forward to the muster for a week,โ€ said Marshall Sayegh, a Napa resident.

Sayegh drove out from Napa with a client he assists with supported living services. The two decided to have a park bench picnic after enjoying the muster competitions. Sayegh said he knows many firefighters and appreciates the efforts of both the men and women.

โ€œI really admire their work and theyโ€™re an essential part of the community,โ€ said Sayegh.

Those relaxing in or around Harbor Plaza between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. had the opportunity to watch the many performances offered that day including that of Motion Dynamics; Missouri Street Theater with Danc-Sing Stars Studios; Hale Hula O Na Pua featuring professional ukulele player Izi Holokahi; and beach band The Landsharks.

Suisun City resident, Chastidy Jones came to the waterfront to support her daughter who was part of the hula dancing performance. The event was just many that she has attended at the waterfront in the past.

โ€œI normally come out for the Christmas (event) and sometimes the Fourth of July,โ€ said Jones.

There were plenty of kid friendly activities available, also. A super slide, ferris wheel, carnival-like games, and a free train ride were available to youngsters visiting for the day. Various booths were set up as well, with vendors selling everything from toys to plants to scented candles.

Mallory Thompson of on Main Street came to see what the event had to offer after spending the morning working in the salon. She also wanted to watch someย dance performances.

โ€œI used to dance and we always use to perform out here,โ€ said Thompson. โ€œSo I know what itโ€™s like to perform out here and itโ€™s always nice to support everybody else.โ€
