Solano Co. Supes To Consider Appointing DA-Elect To Replace Resigning Du Bain
The board decides Tuesday if Krishna Abrams should replace District Attorney Donald du Bain, who is resigning Friday.

The Solano County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday will consider appointing District Attorney-elect Krishna Abrams to replace District Attorney Donald du Bain, who is resigning Friday.
Abrams defeated du Bain in the June 3 election by a vote of 51 percent to 48 percent. In a letter last Thursday, du Bain notified the county Board of Supervisors that he is resigning to accept a job with the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office starting Aug. 18. Abrams, a prosecutor in the office, was initially set to become district attorney at noon on Jan. 5, 2015.
The state government code allows a chief deputy district attorney to perform the duties of the district attorney when the office becomes vacant.

The Board of Supervisors may also appoint a new district attorney to serve the balance of du Bain’s term or appoint the district attorney-elect.
Abrams has requested being appointed to allow her to work with a chief deputy district attorney to enable an efficient and reasonable transition for the office.
