Solano Co. Woman Dies In Crash Off I-80

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- A 47-year-old Fairfield woman died in a solo-vehicle crash early Tuesday off Interstate Highway 80. The woman, whose name was not immediately released, was driving a 2002 Volvo S60 at 1:20 a.m. on the Pittman Road offramp from I-80 an undetermined speed when for unknown reasons she made an unsafe turning movement, California Highway Patrol Officer David Harvey stated in a news release.

The car went off the roadway and crashed into a tree, fatally injuring the woman, Harvey said.

The Pittman Road offramp was closed for several hours as CHP investigated the collision.

Harvey asked anyone with information that may be pertinent to the crash investigation to contact CHP's non-emergency line 800-TELL-CHP (1-800-835-5247) or the CHP Solano Area Office at 707-428-2100.

"Relate that you have information for CHP - Solano and Officer Link who is handling this investigation," Harvey said. "Any information obtained in regards to this collision will be greatly appreciated.
