Solano County Man Found With Gun Near Playground: Cops

FAIRFIELD, CA -- Officers arrested a man on suspicion of firearms-related offenses after allegedly finding a handgun in his car near a playground in Fairfield Friday evening, police said.

Omari Garland, 26, of Fairfield, was arrested and booked into the Solano County Jail on suspicion of several felonies, according to police.

The case began when police got a call from a citizen reporting a man exposing himself and urinating in a public park in the 2900 block of Gulf Drive near a playground around 6:30 p.m., police said.

The officers noted that the man, who was sitting in a parked vehicle, had several open containers of alcohol, according to police.

They searched the car and found a loaded .40 caliber Glock semi-automatic handgun, police said.
