North Bay residents are advised to not only take health precautions for themselves, but also for their pets and livestock.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- With high temperatures expected to be at or above the 100-degree mark for the next several days in the North Bay, a National Weather Service heat advisory was slated to be in effect from noon Saturday until noon Sunday. This weekend's advisory and warning area stretches across the North Bay -- including throughout the communities of the Carquinez Strait and Delta, and the Southern Sacramento Valley.

"The rapid increase in temperatures may not provide adequate time for acclimation to the heat, further increasing risk of heat-related illnesses in the impacted areas," NWS stated. "... Pets, crops and livestock may demand extra care through the warm and dry weather."

With this type of heat also comes an increased risk of wildfires, forecasters advised.
