Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Check out some of the things on the Suisun City Calendar and see if there's something for you.
Friday:
The Bayou Boys will take you to the back country of New Orleans with their foot-stompin', knee-slappin', two-steppin' music! Their rhythm and blues will transport you to the swamp of the Louisiana bayou. You can almost hear the crawfish fryin' and smell the file gumbo cookin'. Like Cajun food, The Bayou Boys blend Zydeco, New Orleans Rhythm and Blue, and Cajun into their performances and the result is hot and spicy!
If you go: The free concert runs from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on at Main Street and Solano Street in Suisun City.

One day. One night. One community. One Fight. Kick off this special day with a “Survivor Celebration Lap” at 9 a.m. honoring and celebrating all cancer survivors. The rest the day will be filled with local talents and cancer awareness fun. At dusk, those who have been lost to cancer will be remembered in a moving ceremony. Participants will walk throughout the night, raising much needed funds to fight back against this disease. Sunday morning, there will be a "Fight Back" party celebrating this important 24 hour event.
If you go: This twenty-four hour event is at Armijo High School, 824 Washington Street in Fairfield. The opening ceremony is at 9 a.m. Celebrate, remember and fight back against cancer.
Saturday:
The Downtown Dixon Business Association invites you to an old-fashioned street fair featuring a pork rib barbecue and chili cook-off contest, car show, and live music by the popular country western band, Whisky Dawn. ‘Grillin’ and Chillin’ will host crafter’s booths, cold beer and refreshing drinks, a stage of ongoing entertainment, children’s activities, numerous crafter’s booths, and a whole lot of family fun. Hundreds of dollars will be awarded for first, second, and third place in each category of the cooking contests and the public can purchase plenty of tasting. Bryan-Braker Funeral Home plans on offering their ‘Silveyville Express’ children’s ride-on train as part of the day-long fun. There will also be face-painting, a petting zoo, and a jump house set up in the Women’s Improvement Club Park for little ones to enjoy as well. Come on over and join the fun.
If you go: The fair is from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in downtown Dixon ( Hwy 113 from West C Street to West Chestnut).
Saturday:
Come catch the outdoor movie on the Harbor Plaza. Bring a blanket or low-slung chair for lawn seating, your favorite snacks, and enjoy the weekly show!
Ghostbusters (PG) - Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson star as a quartet of Manhattan-based "paranormal investigators". When their government grants run out, the former three go into business as The Ghostbusters, later hiring Hudson on. Armed with electronic paraphernalia, the team is spectacularly successful, ridding The Big Apple of dozens of ghoulies, ghosties and long-legged beasties.
If you go: The free movie starts at Dusk (about 8:30 p.m.) on at Main Street and Solano Street in Suisun City.
Sunday:
David Correa & Cascada bring their rich Latin guitar sound to the Suisun City Waterfront! Enjoying live jazz music on the shores of Suisun Marina is a fantastic way to spend a lazy summer Sunday afternoon. Bring your family, friends or church group to the Waterfront District for an afternoon of great music and picnicking!
If you go: The free concert is from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. on Harbor Plaza at Main Street and Solano Street in Suisun City.
