SUV Plows Into Pizza Restaurant On N. Texas St. In Fairfield

Two injured.

From the Fairfield Police Department:

Two people were injured today when a Sport Utility Vehicle crashed into a pizza parlor.

Fairfield Police received a call of a vehicle into a building at 11:36 AM.

Officers and Fairfield firefighters responded to the scene and discovered a maroon SUV inside of the pizza parlor in the 2100 Block of North Texas Street.

The SUV came to rest in the kitchen area of the pizza parlor and severed the gas line to the pizza oven during the collision. As a result of the gas leak the adjacent businesses were evacuated.

The driver of the SUV, a 51 year old Fairfield resident, was able to walk out of the building on his own power, and he was transported by paramedics to a local trauma center.

PG&E responded and shut off the gas to the building, which sustained major damage.

The SUV had been traveling south on North Texas Street when it turned right on Pacific Avenue and struck four other vehicles before crashing into the pizza parlor. The driver of one of those other vehicles was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of this collision is under investigation.
