Teen, 16, Killed in Crash on Waterman In Fairfield
The boy was a resident of Fairfield.

A 16-year-old boy died in a vehicle collision along a Fairfield road Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 3:15 p.m., police responded to reports of a serious vehicle collision on Waterman Boulevard near Barbour Drive, according to police. When officers arrived, they found one driver who had been killed. Another driver complained of pain and he was taken to the hospital, police said.
After an investigation, police determined that the 16-year-old driver was traveling east at a high rate of speed on Waterman Boulevard.

By witness accounts, the teen appeared to lose control of his vehicle and the vehicle went into oncoming traffic, according to police.
The vehicle struck a pickup truck that was traveling west on Waterman Boulevard, police said. The 16-year-old Fairfield resident was killed on impact, according to police.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 44-year-old Fairfield man, did not suffer significant injuries, police said.
