Trio Linked To Retail Thefts Totaling $180K: Fairfield Police
Two of the women were arrested Tuesday in a chase from the Napa Ulta store; the third suspect was taken into custody that same afternoon.

NORTH BAY, CA — Three young women are believed to be responsible for stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from retail stores including Victoria's Secret, Ulta Beauty and Hollister, Fairfield police said Thursday. Angenique Kyer, Akaila Elder and Shamajai Jack — all 18 years old and residents of Fairfield — are suspected in at least nine retail thefts between February and April, including the theft earlier this week of $4,000 worth of perfume from the Napa Ulta store, police said.
A Fairfield police detective has been investigating the thefts since April 9, when three suspects described as black females reportedly entered Victoria's Secret at Solano Mall and began filling their shopping bags with merchandise.
The trio reportedly refused employee's orders for them to stop and leave the store, instead continuing to fill their bags until they had taken approximately $25,000 worth of merchandise, police said.

A Fairfield police officer who responded to Victoria's Secret was told by a loss-prevention employee that the same three females were suspected in a similar theft from Victoria's Secret in San Mateo.
When the case was assigned to Detective Reyna of Fairfield PD, Reyna quickly determined the trio was likely responsible for thefts throughout Northern California, including one in February in Fairfield. Reyna's partner, Detective Clatterbuck, was also working the investigation and had identified one of the suspects as Kyer, police officials said.

In partnering with detectives from numerous jurisdictions, Fairfield detectives soon identified the other two suspects as Jack and Elder, police officials said.
On Tuesday, Napa police detectives contacted Reyna and said they had Jack and Elder in custody for a strong-arm robbery that had occurred at the Ulta Beauty in Napa at approximately 10:30 a.m.
The pair were arrested in American Canyon after leading officers on a pursuit during which they police said the pair tried to "jump" railroad tracks in a Honda Accord.
That same afternoon, a Fairfield officer located the third suspect, Kyer, with a 15-year-old girl and took both of them into custody without incident, according to police officials.
The juvenile was later released to family members.
Kyer, Jack and Elder were all booked into Solano County jail.
The trio is accused of stealing merchandise worth $1,200 from the Hollister store in Fairfield, over $30,000 worth of merchandise from Victoria's Secret and over $150,000 worth of merchandise from Ulta Beauty, according to Fairfield police.
"This investigation is a great example of how agencies willing to work together and share information can stop a prolific retail theft ring," Fairfield police officials said.
