Up To 15,000 People Expected At Suisun City July 4 Celebration

There is going to be a huge party at the waterfront July 4

Suisun City’s Independence Day Spectacular is expected to draw between 10,000 to 15,000 people to the waterfront district this year, by far the city’s biggest downtown event.

A number of downtown businesses are getting in on the fun, with Eco-Delight Coffee teaming up with Italian restaurant Pane e Vino to offer refreshments and a limited Italian menu at the Eco-Delight location on Main Street. Many downtown restaurants will be open as well.

Sunset Kayaks will be running all day, offering single and tandem paddles. At 8 p.m., $25 fireworks paddles will be offered for those who want to be in a kayak in the slough to get a special view when the fireworks go off.Β  Space is limited, so if you’re interested, call Trish Abbatiello at 365-2436 to reserve a spot.

Fire Chief Mike O’Brien, who estimated the figure, will also be on hand as darkness falls to determine whether it is safe enough to follow through with the fireworks program.

The party, though, starts at 11 a.m. when the food and craft vendors will be open for business, along with a giant slide, rock climbing wall and children’s carnival.
