Vacaville Teen Arrested In Connection With Backyard Shooting

The incident happened in September at a gathering on a patio in Vacaville.

Vacaville police have arrested a 17-year-old Vacaville male as a suspect in the shooting at a group of people on the backyard patio of a Meadows Drive residence last month.

Detectives arrested the teen who was in a passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop near Browns Valley Parkway and Sunrise Drive around 10:40 p.m. Saturday, Sgt. Kim Humbert said.

The teen was booked in Juvenile Hall in Fairfield.

The shooting happened in the 100 block of Meadows Drive around 3:20 p.m. on Sept. 14, Humbert said.

The shooting suspect approached the patio that is enclosed by a half-wall and made comments to two couples who were socializing before shooting at them, police said.

The victims were able to move out of the way and were not struck by gunfire.

The shooter then fled on foot with three other people, police said. Officers found bullet holes in the patio wall and in the backyard, and some bullets penetrated the kitchen area of the home, police said.

The shooter was described a Hispanic male in his late teens or early 20s with either short or pulled back black hair.
