Vacaville Woman Dies After Speeding Car Overturns In Fairfield

A 19-year-old Vacaville woman died early Saturday morning after a car she was in overturned several times Friday night on I-80.

FAIRFIELD - A 19-year-old Vacaville woman died early Saturday morning at a hospital after a car she was in overturned several times Friday night just off of eastbound Interstate Highway 80 in Fairfield, California Highway Patrol officials said late Saturday.

Alexa Hoover was not wearing a seatbelt when the driver of the car, a 1993 Acura Integra, made an unsafe turn and lost control of the Acura at 85 mph.

Hoover died at NorthBay Medical Center at 3:03 a.m., CHP officials said.

Officers were dispatched at 10:28 p.m. to eastbound I-80 at the Air Base Parkway off-ramp on a report of a vehicle that possibly overturned.

Officers arrived to find that all three occupants of the Acura had climbed out of the car.

All three were taken to NorthBay Medical Center.

Hoover had major injuries and the driver and another passenger suffered minor injuries, according to CHP officials.

Neither alcohol nor drugs played a part in the crash, CHP officials said.
