Veterans mixer set for July 24 in Suisun City
Assemblymember Jim Frazier, American Legion Reams Post 182 to honor Boys State graduates, AD11 Veteran of the Year Mike Brimer.

SUISUN CITY, CA – Veterans and their supporters are invited to attend a Veterans Community Support Mixer co-hosted by Assemblymember Jim Frazier and The American Legion Reams Post 182 on Friday, July 24.
The event will serve as a reception for the post’s 2015 Boys State graduates and offer the opportunity for Assemblymember Frazier to recognize Assembly District 11’s 2015 Veteran of the Year, Mike Brimer of Fairfield.
Appetizers and light refreshments will be served.
Attendees are welcome to bring their organization’s informational pamphlets and business cards.

The Boys State graduates being honored include Fairfield residents Justin Wong from Armijo High School; Curtis Allen from Fairfield High School; and Anthony Vogliano from Rodriguez High School.
Frazier’s Veteran of the Year is a retired sergeant major who began his military service as a draftee in the U.S. Army in 1965. In 1967, Brimer was released from active duty and soon began a 25-year stint in the Reserves, serving in the California Air National Guard, the Army National Guard and the Army Reserve. He retired in 1995, after a final posting as the 91st Division’s Personnel and Operations and Security Sergeant Major.

He joined the American Legion in 2010, and is serving his second term as commander of Reams Post 182 in Suisun City. He is American Legion’s Area 1 (Northern California) Adjutant/Finance Officer and chairs the state Commission for Disaster and Emergency Services.
Brimer is a member of the Solano County Veterans Advisory Committee and the Congressional District 3 Veterans Advisory Committee. He served on a committee that worked to have the names of eight service members who gave their lives in the global War on Terror added to the Solano County War Memorial this past Memorial Day.
In his civilian live, Brimer worked for many years as an urban land-use planner and then became a small-business owner. Now retired, he lives in Fairfield with his wife of 45 years, Linda. They have two children and three grandchildren.
“I’m pleased to be able to honor Mike at his home post while celebrating our nation’s future leaders,” said Frazier.
