Volunteer as an ACADEMIC COACH at Fairfield PAL!

Tutors don't just help students with their current classes — they teach the skills needed to succeed in any academic or professional environment. Students who work with tutors develop stronger time management and study skills. They gain an understanding of their personal learning style and how to capitalize on their strengths. Become a Volunteer Academic Coach and help local teens achieve academic success!

PAL Academic Coaches work with students one on one or in small groups, helping them prepare to improve their grades and overall academic connection and performance. Training and support are provided.

There is a short applicant process (including fingerprinting) required to volunteer at the center for anyone 18 years of age and older. All costs are paid for by the PAL program and the process generally takes about 15- 20 minutes per applicant. All volunteers must agree to become mandated reporters, support the Alive & Free framework, and pass a local background check administered by the Fairfield Police Department. ABOUT FAIRFIELD PAL

The Fairfield PAL Program is open to Fairfield, Suisun, and Travis Students enrolled ages 13-18 who are enrolled in school. Memberships are FREE and can be applied for at the Fairfield Community Center (1000 Kentucky Street) by appointment. To schedule an appointment, please call 707.428.7435. Due to COVID restrictions, space will be limited, and so advanced signups are required, PAL members can save their seat by calling 707 422 6288.

PAL uses traditional recreational programming to create an environment that draws young people to support the development of the social and emotional skills required to promote a positive self-identity and become productive and engaged members of our community. By offering teens programs they are interested in and choices, it becomes possible to slip in pro social skill building and development utilizing youth development practices and techniques.
