What is Happening With the Street Light on Casa Loma?

A few weeks ago local residents said the street light on the corner of Casa Loma and Capistrano was out. 

So what is the status of the street light?

Street light number 862, located on the 1500 block of Casa Loma, was reported not working on February 17 to Public Works. As of last week it was not clear just when it would be fixed because of a 4-week back log. Then something changed.

“They went out and, as it happens sometimes, when lights are really easy to fix they can get a lot done during the day,” said Amanda Dum, Public Works Administrative Assistant.

Dum said it is not uncommon for one street light repair to take all day. Other times many are able to get fixed during the day, depending on the nature of the repair. It is because of this the light on Casa Loma was repaired a lot earlier than expected, on Tuesday to be exact.

“That (service request) was very, very new but he was still able to get it done,” said Dum.
