Woman, 63, Hit By Two Vehicles, Killed In Vacaville
The victim was crossing Alamo Drive Wednesday night.

A 63-year-old woman was killed Wednesday night when she was struck by two vehicles while crossing a street in Vacaville, a police lieutenant said.
The Solano County coroner’s office identified the woman as Vacaville resident Stella Saldate. Saldate was not in a designated crosswalk when she crossed the street in the 1500 block of Alamo Drive around 9:30 p.m., Vacaville police Lt. Mark Donaldson said.
She was struck by a vehicle heading east on Alamo Drive, then was hit by a second vehicle, Donaldson said. Both drivers stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, he said. Vacaville firefighters responded and pronounced Saldate dead at 9:35 p.m.

Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors in the fatal collision, Donaldson said. Alamo Drive was closed for three and a half hours between Alamo Lane and Mariposa Avenue, according to Donaldson.
