Cal Fire reports the #WraggFire in Napa County is at 1,000 acres with 5 percent containment.

Three hundred firefighters are battling the blaze and 150 structures are threatened, the agency said.

The terrain is described by Cal Fire as brush-covered, rugged and steep, with difficult access, and the winds are erratic.

The “Wragg” vegetation fire has burned 700 acres of steep, brush covered terrain in the Lake Berryessa area of Napa County, a Cal Fire spokeswoman said.

The fire started after a vehicle accident at 7700 state Highway 128 at Wragg Canyon Road around 2:30 p.m., Cal Fire spokeswoman Suzie Blankenship said.

Homeowners in the Mix Canyon area, where structures were threatened, campers at Canyon Creek Campground and hikers in the Cold Canyon area have been evacuated, Blankenship said.

The fire was zero percent contained at 5 p.m., and there are 300 firefighters including four helicopters and 10 fire crews at the scene, Blankenship said.

State Highway 128 at Wragg Canyon Road is closed to through traffic, Blankenship said.
