TEMECULA, CA — The 19th Annual Charity for Charity Stars of the Valley Golf and Gala event is returning to Pechanga Resort Casino and the Temecula Creek Inn this February, organizers say.

On Friday, Feb. 6, the golfers will tee off to raise funds for beneficiaries in this "Make a Wish"- style charity fundraiser.

Saturday, Feb. 7, a sparkling gala is planned for the Pechanga Resort Casino ballroom, where beneficiaries will be introduced, and a silent auction will raise further funds at this annual black-tie event.

Charity for Charity is run by philanthropist, restaurateur, and winery owner Charity Prestifilippo. "For the past 19 years, we've had the honor of fulfilling wishes for individuals in our community facing life-threatening illnesses or traumatic injuries," she said in a recent statement. "What started as a dream has grown into a mission powered by hope, generosity, and an incredible community of supporters."

The funds raised at the golf scramble, the Stars of the Valley banquet, and the silent and live auctions will help support wishes planned for the 2026 recipients.

The number of families touched by the organization continues to grow. Prestifilippo can tell you anything about all of them, each emblazoned in memory.

"Charity for Charity beneficiaries are some of the most incredible individuals you’ll ever meet," she says. "Our beneficiaries are either struggling with a life-threatening illness or a traumatic injury, which, for anyone without either of these, would be the most devastating or depressing thing they could ever deal with.

"What we have found is that these individuals are the most positive, non-complaining, humble, and determined humans you could ever meet. Whether they are surrounded by family, friends or have none, these special people come to us with a smile, even amidst some tears. They all share the positive attitude that they will overcome and fight the good fight. Even those who have passed on were inspiring us as much as we inspired them, up to the last breath."The signature event, Stars of the Valley Golf & Gala, is the heartbeat of our organization, she says. "This event funds both wish fulfillment and operational needs, allowing us to not only continue our work, but grow it."

The Charity For Charity team seeks to add more beneficiaries each year, creating meaningful relationships and hosting events throughout the year for their benefit. It's much more than just a fundraiser, according to Prestifilippo. Picking out beneficiaries is one of the hardest decisions they can make each year.

The organization accepts applications online from beneficiaries themselves, a family member, a close friend, or, sometimes, a stranger.

Once all applications are gathered, the Charity for Charity Advisory Board meets, reviews them, and then must choose the main beneficiaries for the coming year. The wishes they are able to grant are so much more than wishes, according to Prestifilippo. "For some, it takes them out of the pain and struggle for even just a moment. For others, it's their family's last special memory to treasure."
