Officials said campus tours and open forums for each final candidate is scheduled for April 21.

TEMECULA, CA — The search to find a new president/superintendent of Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) has narrowed down to four candidates in the district's hunt for a successor.

Since October, the Board of Trustees of Mt. San Jacinto College — with assistance from the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) — has been engaged in a nationwide search for a president/superintendent to fill the post that will be open after Dr. Roger W. Schultz announced his retirement.

Last year, Schultz, who was appointed to the role in 2008, announced plans to retire in the summer this year after spending 38 years in higher education, including 25 years at MSJC.

On April 7, the committee submitted four final candidates they interviewed to the MSJC Board of Trustees for additional review.

The four finalists for president/superintendent of MSJC include:

"The president will have the opportunity to build on the district's reputation for excellence in student success and service to the communities it serves. The president also will face the positive challenge of booming enrollments that require the skillful acquisition and management of fiscal resources and community partnerships throughout a large geographical area," officials said.

Officials said campus tours and open forums for each final candidate is scheduled for April 21. The forums will be held in the Temecula Valley Campus Boardroom.

The forums will also be livestreamed on YouTube from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. A link to the livestream and a form to submit feedback for each candidate will be on MSJC’s presidential search website.

The new president/superintendent of MSJC will start July 1 "or as negotiated."
