TEMECULA, CA — Temecula residents were invited to discuss land use and advanced planning at the Temecula Civic Center from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night, according to the city. The meeting is at 41000 Main Street and will be preceded by a brief presentation and small-group discussions, according to the city.

Whether residents want to see more parks, more housing, or more commercial space, the future use of our city's land is being discussed right now, a city spokesperson shared.

"The future of land use in Temecula is being planned right now-and you can be a part of the conversation," they said.

Residents who chimed in over the city's Facebook page suggested that Temecula feels "built out," and that "growth needs to be slowed."

One resident stated:

"I consider us built out for housing when the existing projects are complete. Way back in 98 there was a large push for a moratorium. But there was too much land already purchased by developers who would have sued the daylights out of the city."

Others pleaded to maintain what keeps Temecula "special."

"Please stop destroying the foothills and mountains," another said.

Others shared that they hope for repaired potholes and a heated pool, year-round.
