TEMECULA, CA — While you're spring cleaning over the weekend, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department Temecula officers ask that you look through your medicine cabinet for expired and unwanted prescriptions.
The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Temecula Parkway Ralph's Shopping Center, located at 33145 Temecula Parkway.
Saturday is the 30th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, hosted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). "This biannual event provides a free, anonymous, and safe way for the public to dispose of expired or unused prescription medications at thousands of locations nationwide."
At the Temecula event, the Southwest Sheriff's Station officers will be on hand to retrieve those unwanted meds and even needles for proper disposal.
Residents are encouraged to come drop off unneeded medication for safe disposal, and no worries. No questions will be asked, according to the Southwest Sheriff's Station.
As a bonus, sharps (needles) will also be accepted at this event.
