TEMECULA, CA — A single vehicle crash resulted in a downed power pole that injured one person, according to both the California Highway Patrol and Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The crash occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. at State Route 79 South and Caprise Road in Aguanga, Cal Fire spokesperson Tara Fernandez told Patch.
There, a silver SUV with four people inside struck a power pole, injuring one person.
Southern California Edison crews were responding to the scene of the pole, which was "leaning," according to the California Highway Patrol dispatchers. The pole was "split and leaning," according to reports. All four occupants of the vehicle were able to self-extricate, though one was injured.
One patient was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, Fernandez said.
Roughly 12 customers were impacted by the outage caused by this crash, according to SoCal Edison's outage page. Power was expected to be restored by 11 a.m., they estimated.
