TEMECULA, CA -- San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) will be holding two meetings to share information about proposed power lines that would run through several cities, including Temecula.
The Golden Pacific Powerlink would install 140 miles of 500-kV high voltage transmission lines and tower structures. The power lines and structures are planned to run through Temecula at State Route 79, Temecula Creek, and the Santa Margarita River.
On Wednesday, officials said the project would "directly" impact the city.
The Golden Pacific Powerlink project would be completed in 2032.
Participants can share their thoughts on the project by visiting SDG&E's "virtual open houses" on May 12 and May 14 at 12 p.m.
More information about the meetings and registration can be found on SDG&E's website.
