RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — The Riverside County Sheriff's Department is hosting Peace Officers' Memorial Day Wednesday evening to honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of law enforcement officers.

The memorial ceremony will take place after the run, which is slated to start at 5:15 p.m. at 4102 Orange Street in Riverside.

During National Police Week, and especially on Peace Officers’ Memorial Day, we remember those fallen officers who gave their lives in the line of duty and stand in gratitude for those who continue to serve.

"We invite you to join us for the 42nd Riverside County Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony which honors the men in women in law enforcement who have made the ultimate sacrifice," the sheriff's department stated in a recent news release.

The run portion will be approximately a 2.5-mile-long moderate jog that is open to all law enforcement, their families, and the public.

Early arrival is encouraged.

The end of the jog will lead into the start of the ceremony at 6 p.m.

When you go, parking will be available in the parking structure on 12th Street between Orange St. and Lemon St., as well as in other open parking areas adjacent to the Riverside Police Department and the Riverside County Sheriff's Administration building.

For 2026, Deputy Timothy Corlew will be added to the memorial statue.

The fallen deputy was hired in February 2016, and after graduating from the sheriff's public safety academy later that year, he was assigned to bailiff duties in the court system. He was transferred to patrol operations at the Jurupa Valley station in August 2019. Corlew completed Motor School in June 2022 and deployed as a motorcycle patrolman immediately afterward. He was killed in a collision involving his patrol motorcycle on the Riverside (91) Freeway and was remembered in early 2025 as an "inspiration" to those around him and a lawman "passionate" about his job.

The event will also include a Fallen Officer Tribute to all Riverside County Fallen Officers, Deputies, and Agents.

A spokesperson for the department added: "Please join all law enforcement in Riverside County to honor our Fallen Heroes and those they left behind."
