TEMECULA, CA — Trattoria Toscana is closing, the owners announced in a flurry of social media messages. The favored Temecula restaurant, located at 41789 Nicole Lane, Suite B-1, would pour its final glass of wine at its Temecula location Thursday night, according to head chef and owner Pietro Cinus.
"Come, cheers, and say farewell to Chef Pietro and team as we close the doors to this location. Our last day will be (Thursday) from 5 to 9 p.m. We hope to see you here!"
But this is not the end of their story.
Cinus, originally from Sardinia, by way of Tuscany, is known for his inventive takes on classic Italian cuisine. Cinus makes all of the restaurant's breads, sauces and pastas completely from scratch. The Temecula "Tuscan Tavern" opened in 2021.
Over the past 13 years, this restaurant has been full of "great memories, great food and great people," he said. "We want to make the final chapter here something special. Before we move, we want to celebrate with all who have supported us."
On Thursday, they invited the community out for a final toast.
The reason for the move is a change in the lease, according to the owners. There was no immediate news on where the owners would open next. They merely stated: "Come celebrate, reminisce, and help us close this chapter surrounded by friends, family, and great food."
Residents shared their thoughts on the final day over social media.
Frequent diner Debi Fidero shared her thoughts on the announcement. "One of my favorite restaurants, my family & friends have been enjoying since they first opened in Temecula 13 years ago. Cheers to Pietro and his family for making one of their dreams come true."
