Temecula Wine Barrel Art Trail: See Local Artwork In Wine Country, Old Town And More

TEMECULA, CA — When the wine is bottled and the barrels have lost their flavor, they can become something beautiful. This September, Visit Temecula Valley is launching its Wine Barrel Art Trail, with a guide on where to find uniquely painted barrels across the area.

Both Visit Temecula Valley (VTV) and the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association (TVWA) are celebrating California Wine Month in September with the launch of the Barrel Art Trail, a permanent public art experience.

All told, the event will feature over 40 retired wine barrels transformed into vibrant works of art by local artists, the trail invites visitors to discover Temecula Valley through a fresh lens that connects the region's wine culture with its thriving art community.

Beginning Sept. 1, the installations will be on display at several locations throughout Temecula Valley Wine Country, Old Town Temecula, and at other notable destinations including the Rose Haven Heritage Garden, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year.

Annette Brown, Interim CEO of Visit Temecula Valley, spoke on the varied artworks.

"Temecula Valley is well-known for its award-winning wineries, breathtaking landscapes, and welcoming hospitality," Brown said. "The Barrel Art Trail adds an exciting new dimension to the visitor experience by celebrating the incredible talent of our local artists while encouraging guests to explore our beautiful destination."

Visitors can follow the Barrel Art Trail starting Sept. 1 at www.visittemeculavalley.com/barrel-trail. The site will also offer a digital pass listing all locations and special offers from participating wineries, retailers, restaurants, and hotels.

"The Barrel Art Trail celebrates our agricultural heritage while supporting local artists and launching the trail during California Wine Month makes this project even more meaningful."
