TEMECULA, CA — E-Moto riders were advised to know the rules of the road as deputies conduct an enforcement operation in Temecula, the city announced on Friday.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff's Southwest Station are conducting e-moto enforcement in Temecula, "focusing on safety, education and illegal riding," the city said.
The city said recent enforcement resulted in 13 citations being issued, multiple e-Motos and pocket bikes being towed, and minors and their parents being informed of the laws and risks of riding the bikes.
Riders were reminded that bikes without pedals and powered by a motor with more than 750 watts are considered electric motorcycles, not e-bikes.
Without a license, it is not legal to ride e-Motos on public roads, officials said.
